Why Hebrew Day School?

Richard and Eve chose the Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor in part because Richard received a Jewish day school education, and because Richard and Eve think it important to support institutions like HDS that help equip young American Jews from all varieties of Jewish practice with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to be Jewishly literate.   At the same time, HDS provides children with an outstanding secular education.

Richard's family embodies a strong tradition of support for Jewish day school education.  Richard's grandfather attended a Jewish day school in Poland, and his parents were instrumental in developing the South Bend Hebrew Day School in South Bend, Indiana, where Richard attended school.
